One dead, several injured as fire breaks out at furniture manufacturing unit in Hyderabad

A tragic fire broke out at a furniture manufacturing unit in Hyderabad's Jiyaguda, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The incident occurred in a 4-storey building where 21 people were present at around 1 am.

Fire officials received the call at 1:22 am and responded promptly. Six fire vehicles were deployed to the scene, and the fire was brought under control by 3:00 am. Despite their swift actions, one person died and six others were injured.

Among the injured were four members of a family, including an eight-year-old girl. They were residing in the building and sustained serious burns. Two family members suffered 90% burns, one had 50% burns, and the young girl suffered 35% burns. All injured were admitted to a state-run hospital.

The fire started on the ground floor, where the building owner operated the furniture manufacturing unit, and quickly spread to the upper floors. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and a case has been registered.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
